Racing:Today's race meetings at Leopardstown and Cork have both been abandoned due to waterlogging at the tracks following heavy rain through the night.

This afternoon’s flat meeting at Leopardstown, due to feature the November Handicap, had expected to go ahead with the course showing yielding to soft, soft in places.

However torrential overnight downpours left the course unraceable.

“Unfortunately the rain they have had overnight has left them with no chance,' said Cliff Noone from the Irish Turf Club.

Course officials inspected the Cork track at 7.30am due to an adverse forecast but again significant overnight rain left them with no choice.

“Cork has gone I'm afraid,' added Noone. “They had a lot of rain last night. The meeting has been cancelled and they may look to reschedule.”

In addition the Suir Vale Harriers point-to-point at Templemore in Tipperary has also been cancelled as has the Killinick Harriers point-to-point at Lingstown in Wexford.
