London - Three Leeds United players charged in connection with an assault on an Asian student have been committed for trial, Leeds Police said yesterday.
Mr Lee Bowyer (23) and Mr Jonathan Woodgate (21) are charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray following an incident in Leeds city centre in January. A reserve team player, Mr Tony Hackworth (20), also faces these charges. Mr Michael Duberry (24) and Mr Woodgate face charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The case was committed to Leeds Crown Court for a plea direction hearing on September 25th.
