England's Kenneth Ferrie won the Canaries Spanish Open in Tenerife today, beating Dubliner Peter Lawrie and Swede Peter Hedblom at the second hole of a sudden death play-off.
The trio had tied on the 22 under par total of 266, Lawrie making an eagle three on the last, but Hedblom and then Ferrie then both missed birdie chances.
They all two-putted for birdies on the same hole at the start of the play-off, but Ferrie was the only one to repeat that second time round and so claimed his first European tour title seven years after becoming British boys champion.
