Chris Latham will keep his place on the wing in the Australian team to face New Zealand in the Tri Nations decider at Stadium Australia on Saturday.

Autralian coach Eddie Jones told reporters today he had named Latham ahead of Andrew Walker in the starting XV for the Wallabies.

Latham and Walker had been bracketed for the wing spot when the Australian team was named on Wednesday.

Walker, who has been struggling to recover from a knee injury, will take his place on the bench.

"Andrew has come on really well, but we are better off starting with someone who is 100 per cent," Jones told a press conference.

But New Zealand could lose the services of centre Tana Umaga, who suffered a family bereavement overnight.

Umaga will decide on Saturday whether to play or not.
