Two late goals from Liverpool booked their place in the
fifth round of the FA Cup today with a dramatic 2-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road.
The teams were heading for a replay until two minutes from time when Nicky Barmby came off the bench to put the League Cup finalists in front.
Liverpool captain Robbie Fowler stabbed a low shot against the inside of Nigel Martyn's right-hand post and Barmby raced onto the rebound and lashed the ball home.
A rejuvenated Fowler then went on a barnstorming run down Leeds' right wing and crossed for Barmby, who appeared to have lost the chance to score his second.
But Barmby played it back to fellow substitute Emile Heskey who unleashed a vicious right-foot shot which keeper Martyn could only parry into the net.
