Modern Pentathlon:Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe won Ireland's first major championship medal in modern pentathlon by taking bronze at the Junior World Championships in Drzonkow, Poland on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Dubliner won the fencing phase and retained first place despite finishing sixth in the swim. The Olympian had two fences down in the show jumping phase and started the combined run/shoot in first with a 12 second lead, but finished third overall.

Lanigan-O'Keeffe started his athletic career in Pony Club Tetrathlon, winning the Irish national championship five times.
