Goma - At least 12 people have been killed in landslides in North Kivu province in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, witnesses said yesterday.
At least seven people died after heavy rains triggered a landslide overnight on Saturday, engulfing several houses in the village of Rutenga 40 km south-west of Goma.
The seven were members of the same family.
