At least four passengers were killed and 12 were missing after a landslide swept a coach into a river in China's southwestern province of Yunnan, local officials said today.
Rescue workers in mountainous Zhenyuan county, 200 kilometres southwest of the provincial capital of Kunming, were still searching for missing passengers and the coach involved in Saturday's accident, said one.
"We have pulled four survivors out of the Babian River. They all suffered severe injuries but are stable in a local hospital," the official said.
The landslide also destroyed 100 metres of road, the official said.
