The Labour Party will publish a political blueprint for Ireland's future development within a month, according to the party leader, Mr Ruairi Quinn.

Predicting that a general election was "only a matter of months away", Mr Quinn accused the Coalition Government of lacking imagination and of presiding over a worsening crisis in the health services and housing.

Setting a target of winning two Labour seats in Wicklow, Mr Quinn told a meeting in Arklow that Ms Mildred Fox appeared to have forgotten the meaning of the word "Independent" and Fianna Fail now had three deputies out of five in the constituency.
