Cllr. Kelly, who is also facing a recount in his own Wicklow constituency for the fifth seat against Mildred Fox tomorrow, said he believed Ms Sinnott’s campaign needed the support of experienced campaigners who have been through recounts before.
"The heavy hitters from the Fianna Fail party arrived to help their candidate[Mr John Dennehy]which I know from past experience can be intimidating, especially given some of the people they can get to help them," Cllr. Kelly.
"I was only there[yesterday]to offer my experience of elections in the past.
"Ms Sinnott has her own legal team who are advising her on all the legal aspects of the count."
A spokesperson for the Labour Party said Ms Sinnott had not officially been asked to join the party, but that many Labour Party members and candidates support her policies.
"Our involvement," the spokesman said, "is simply to make sure that the recount is fair and accurate.
"As far as we are aware all other parties were contacted and asked to help with the recount, so its not really a case of Ms Sinnott favouring one party over another.
"We had our own candidate in the constituency[Brendan Ryan] who was eliminated and given Ms Sinnotts platform of education for mentally handicapped children many party members have no difficulty in supporting her.
Ms Sinnot, last night, ruled out any possibility that she might join the Labour Party.
