Labour Party delegates will gather in Dublin today for a conference at which the party will be laying out their policies ahead of the general election.
The conference is being used by the party as a "launching pad" for their general election campaign.
The sessions will concentrate on the six pledges made by the party to the electorate, which they say will be delivered if they are in power after the general election. These cover health, education, poverty, children, carers and housing.
"The main purpose of the one- day conference will be to promote the pledges and our candidates," a party spokesman said yesterday. At present the party has 46 candidates selected in 39 constituencies. The intention, according to the spokesman, is to choose a further three in the next few weeks.
The conference will be televised on RTÉ1 between 11.15 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.
Party leader Mr Ruairí Quinn's televised address will begin at 5 p.m. The conference is being held in Dún Laoghaire where the party hope to win two seats in the general election.
