Vitali Klitschko of Ukraine will challenge Lennox Lewis for the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight title before the year is out, Klitschko's promoters said today.
German promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl said he had signed a contract with Lewis's management for the fight to take place before December.
"After long negotiations I am delighted that this fight will take place at last," Kohl said in a statement. "Lennox has demonstrated that he is a gentleman and a great champion who is not afraid of any challenge."
