Kilkenny Corporation has been asked to explain why a multi-storey city centre car-park was built higher than planned. "It seems the car-park is even taller than it was last week," said Cllr Paul Cuddihy.
The car-park, only yards from High Street, towers over nearby buildings. A senior borough engineer, Mr Joe Gannon, admitted the height of the car-park exceeded planning permission. However, he said the difference in height was not significant and was something the corporation "could live with".
