The archive of Benedict Kiely has been donated to the National Library. It was bought from the writer by Kenny's Bookshop, Galway, some years ago. It contains manuscripts, drafts and rough drafts of his works, letters, signed copies of his books and periodical articles. Mr Kiely was created a Saoi by Aosdana. As a former journalist his early work will be represented in the National Library's newspaper collection.
