A man has told the Michael Godfrey kidnap trial that he saw three men running across the road and into a car on the night of the incident on the North Circular Road, Dublin. Dublin Circuit Criminal Court has heard that Mr Godfrey was shot dead after being kidnapped.

Mr George Turner told Mr Michael Durack SC, prosecuting, that another man ran screaming from a house. This man's hands were tied with a television cable.

Mr Turner said he untied the man before walking off. He was waiting for a taxi to take him home when he witnessed the events.

Mr Martin Dunne (43), of Collins Drive, Finglas, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of false imprisonment of Michael Godfrey and Paul Carwood on April 3rd, 1993.

The trial continues.
