The broadcaster, Mr Micheal O Muircheartaigh, has been named as Kerryperson of the Year. He was presented with the award last night at the annual dinner dance of the Kerry Association in Dublin.He said it was the best thing "next to an All-Ireland medal".
Now in his second term as chairman of Bord na Gaeilge, he has the distinction of having been appointed by both Fianna Fail- and Fine Gael-led governments.
