The other big change in Dublin's food scene in recent times has been Kim Condon's assumption of the family business at Magill's Delicatessen on Clarendon Street, directly opposite the entrance to the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.
Ms Condon succeeds her father, Brendan, in this venerable food lover's mecca, and has now closed her Rathgar shop, which won't make the residents of Dublin 6 any happier. But a trek into the city to Magill's has always been worthwhile, and what a pleasure to see the family business continued by such a distinguished and knowledgeable food lover as Kim Condon.
