A jury at the Central Criminal Court has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a Dublin man charged with raping his daughter. The jury disagreed following more than four hours of deliberations after spending Friday night in a hotel.

The 45-year-old defendant has pleaded not guilty to 19 charges of raping his daughter, now 16, on dates between October 1st, 1994, and October 31st, 1997.

Mr Justice Carney remanded the man in custody until a new date for trial is set.
