London - The judge who poked fun at political correctness in an after-dinner speech referring to homosexuals, lesbians and black people has come under fire from legal colleagues.

Mr Brian Barker, chairman of the Criminal Bar Association, said that Judge Graham Boal's joke, in which he said an ideal candidate for promotion at the bar would have "the breasts of a lesbian, the backside of a homosexual and a large black penis", was "ill-judged, likely to cause offence whatever the intention, and inappropriate in any setting". The Lord Chancellor, Lord Irvine, has also reprimanded Judge Boal.
