Manila - A leading judge at the corruption trial of the Philippine President, Mr Joseph Estrada, yesterday ordered a bank to turn over records of the leader's alleged secret bank account, seen as crucial in the case.
Mr Estrada, meanwhile, denied a claim by a prosecution witness on Monday that she once delivered illegal gambling payoffs to the president's office in 1999.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Hilario Davide, the Senate trial's presiding officer, ordered Equitable PCI Bank to surrender all documents related to the account for safe keeping pending further debate on banking secrecy laws.
