Ajaccio - Protests, strikes and a bomb attack on a government building greeted the Prime Minister of France, Mr Lionel Jospin, yesterday at the start of a visit to Corsica meant to ease persistent tensions between Paris and the island.
Protesting workers tried to block the runway at Ajaccio airport and one firefighter was slightly injured as police cleared the way for Mr Jospin's plane to land.
