Tokyo - President Jiang Zemin of China today told Japan to guide the young generation and the country with the "right view" of the devastation wrought by Tokyo's military past.
Mr Jiang was addressing students in Tokyo's prestigious private Waseda University on a trip in which he received only a lukewarm state apology for Japan's notorious war-time acts against China. Japan should "guide the nation and young generations with correct views of history and never allow a repeat of the ideology or force of militarism," he said.
