The summit between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas scheduled for June 21st will be held in Jerusalem.

Mr Sharon's office today confirmed that the disputed city will for the first time be the location of a Middle East peace summit.

Control of the city is one of the most serious causes of conflict with the Palestinians claiming Arab East Jerusalem for a future capital. But the Israelis consider Jerusalem its eternal and indivisible capital.
