Dr Raymond Davis and Dr Riccardo Giacconi of the United States and Dr Masatoshi Koshiba of Japan have won the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physics, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said today.

They share the $1 million prize for pioneering work on astrophysics leading to the discovery of cosmic X-ray sources that have changed the way we look upon the universe, the academy said in its citation.
