Sweden's Fredrik Jacoben has won the Royal Bank of Scotland Shot of the Year Award for his final approach shot in the season-ending Volvo Masters in November.

The Swede struck a 152-yard nine iron to within 18 inches of the hole on the 18th green to force a play-off with Spain's Carlos Rodiles, before going on to win the event at the fourth extra hole.

It rounded off a superb season on the European Tour for Jacobsen who claimed his third title of the year. He wins a Waterford Crystal Trophy and a stg£2000 cheque to donate to a charity of his choice.

Ireland's Padraig Harrington and Darren Clarke were also considered for the shot of the year award after they won respective monthly awards in November/December and August.
