Washington - The United States rejected yesterday a request to try in Italy the crew of a US military jet that clipped a ski-lift cable, killing 20 people, a Pentagon official said. The four-member crew were returning home today to North Carolina, where they face possible court martial for the disaster in the Dolomite mountains, a Marine Corps official said. Washington did not want to set a precedent by relinquishing jurisdiction over military personnel, a State Department official said.
