Israeli tank shelling killed three Palestinians and wounded at least 25 others in the Rafah refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip today, Palestinian hospital officials said.
The army did not immediately comment but said it was checking the report.
"We have at least three martyrs," said Mr Ali Moussa, the director of Rafah hospital, using the term the Palestinians use to describe their people killed in their two-year-old uprising for independence in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
"At least 25 others are in critical condition. Israeli tanks fired shells against the houses of people in Rafah refugee camp," he said.
