Hebron - Israel yesterday opened a main road in the West Bank city of Hebron to Palestinian traffic that had been closed since the massacre of 29 Arabs by a Jewish settler five years ago.
Shuhada Street runs through the Hebron area still under Israeli occupation. It links two Jewish enclaves of 450 settlers amidst more than 140,000 Arabs in the divided city, parts of which Israel handed over to Palestinian control. Settlers said they would march to protest against the move.
