Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian gunman in the occupied West Bank today, a Palestinian militant group said.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, part of President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, announced the death over loudspeakers in the city of Nablus, saying one of its members was killed in a gun battle with Israeli troops.
There was no immediate Israeli comment on the incident.
