Parents need to spend more quality time with their children says a new campaign launched today by the ISPCC.
Through the "Time Together Campaign" - which was launched by the Minister of State for Health and Children, Ms Mary Hanafin - the ISPCC aims to give practical advice and tips on how parents can find time for their children.
The ISPCC believes today’s parents, due to commitments in the workplace and the home, are finding it more difficult to spend quality time with their children.
A leaflet is being published suggesting practical ways in which parents can spend such time with their children.
The society hopes these suggestions will allow parents catch up on their children’s lives and give children an opportunity to chat with their parents about different issues.
The leaflet will be distributed free to parents through various different outlets, including Dunnes Stores.
In conjunction with NSPCC England, Scotland, and Wales, the ISPCC is also launching an leaflet for parents on choosing safe organisations for their children.
This leaflet outlines what parents should look out for in organisations when choosing leisure activities for their children.
