For the first time in over 70 years, fishermen and their families on four islands off the Donegal coast, Arranmore, Tory, Inisbofin and Inisfree, will go to the polls on the same day as the rest of the country to cast their votes in the general election.

The total poll on these islands is about 600 voters. On Inisfree there are now only 10 voters left.
