An Irishman was stabbed to death in his Bangkok apartment today, according to reports.

An Irishman was stabbed to death in his Bangkok apartment today, according to reports.

News agency PA, citing police Lieutenant Colonel Suchart Kaewsui in Bangkok, said the 27-year-old had been killed by his Thai girlfriend.

He was stabbed in the chest and died on his way to a hospital, while his 23-year-old girlfriend, was in critical condition.

Police were informed about the incident by a security guard at the couple's Bangkok apartment who received a call from a woman asking for an ambulance, the report says.

A search of the apartment found a bloodstained knife and some marijuana.

The man is bellieved to have arrived in Thailand on February 10th and rented the apartment five days later.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said they had no knowledge of the incident, but were investigating the report.
