Irishman held in €1.75m cannabis seizure in France
French customs officers seized a tonne of cannabis resin this evening, which was being transported in a lorry travelling on a motorway in northern France, a close source said.
The lorry, driven by an Irishman, had been driving on the A16 near the town of Abbeville.
The drugs were found hidden inside furniture which was being taken from Spain to Ireland.
