Police in Melbourne, Australia have recovered a body from a river in the search for a missing Irish tourist. The deceased man was attempting to swim across the river with another man who was rescued, local reports said.
The body was located by police divers in the Yarra River yesterday at about 1.30pm Irish time (12.30am in Melbourne). The men entered the river from the bank in central Melbourne near Federation Square shortly after 9pm. The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that an Irish person was missing.
