Kevin O'Sullivan has been appointed News Editor of The Irish Times.
He was formerly Night Editor and, as Assistant Editor (Special Projects), established the Health Supplement in 2004. From 2000 to 2003 he worked as Assistant News Editor.
He joined The Irish Times in 1996 when he was appointed Environmental and Food Science Correspondent. He worked previously with the Tuam Herald and the Connacht Tribune newspaper group. He was educated at Tramore CBS and Glenstal Abbey School, and is a graduate of UCD and DCU.
Miriam Donohoe, former News Editor, has been seconded to the political staff for the forthcoming general election.
From Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny, she joined The Irish Times in 1999 and has held a number of posts, including Political Reporter and Asia Correspondent.
She previously worked with the Sunday Tribune, the Irish Independent and the Irish Examiner. She began her career with the Tallaght Echo and is a journalism graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology.
