James Nolan will spearhead a 21-strong Irish team for next month's whistle-stop Eastern European tour of Latvia.

The Waterford athlete has been training in South Africa for the past six months and reaped the rewards of that programme with a sixth place finish in the World Indoor Championships two months ago.

Nolan plans to compete in the Europa Cup a fortnight later and will compete over 800m in Latvia to improve his speed for that event.

David McCarthy, another finalist at the World Indoors in Birmingham, leads the 400m challenge and is joined by Tomas Coman and Rob Daly.
