AN Irishman described as an obsessive admirer of the Princess of Wales has been caught for a second time in the grounds of her residence at Kensington Palace, police said yesterday.
Liam Kevin Whitney (36) set off an alarm when climbing over a fence inside the grounds of the central London palace on Monday. He had previously been caught inside the palace grounds only last May.
Police declined to say whether Princess Diana, who has lived there since her separation from Prince Charles, was at home when Whitney entered the grounds.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of York's friend Mr John Bryan was yesterday made bankrupt over "substantial" debts, including £30,000 owed to her sister.
After a 20 minute private hearing, Ms Kathryn Garbett, a solicitor acting for Ms Jane and Mr Rainer Liidecke, said. "We are pleased with the successful outcome of our client's application.
The petition was brought by the Liideckes over £30,000 costs incurred in a legal battle over Hello! magazine's exclusive photographs of their wedding.
In July 1994 the High Court ordered Mr Bryan to pay them £55,000 after arranging the magazine coverage.
Photographs of Prince Andrew kissing the Duchess of York in front of their two daughters were splashed across British news papers yesterday.
The couple, who divorced four months ago, were attending a charity golf tournament with their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Pictures showed the family laughing and posing together, with Sarah clearly sporting her ruby engagement and wedding rings.
Meanwhile, Princess Diana's mother, Mrs Frances Shand Kydd (60), was in court in Scotland yesterday, facing a drink driving charge. Her lawyers have called the man prosecuting her, Mr Brian Maguire, as a potential witness at her trial in Oban, Mgyll.
Mrs Shand Kyd pleads not, guilty to driving a car in Oban on April 5th with 206 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, and failing to provide a breath specimen without reasonable excuse.
Princess Diana washed dishes and even helped clean out a cupboard at the home of her former lover, Maj James Hewitt, his mother told Hello! magazine yesterday. In an interview for which she was reportedly paid £40,000, Mrs Shirley Hewitt said Princess Diana was a regular visitor to her home.
Mrs Hewitt said she made Princess Diana chocolate cake, and the princess was very helpful. "She would always help carry the things out after lunch. She would wash up the dishes and on one occasion helped clear out a cupboard."
