An Irish man who was left in a critical condition after an incident in the Netherlands this week has died in hospital.

An Irish man who was left in a critical condition after an incident in the Netherlands this week has died in hospital.

Niall Coyle (33), from Co Roscommon, was attacked on Monday night outside a bar in Dordrecht, a town about 15 kilometres southeast of Rotterdam.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to Mr Coyle's family.
