IRISH comic Dylan Moran has been nominated for a Perrier award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

IRISH comic Dylan Moran has been nominated for a Perrier award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Dylan (24), from Navan, Co Meath, is on a shortlist of six performers for the prestigious prize, with the overall winner being announced on Saturday night.

His show, Dylan Moran Is Indisposed, is attracting major critical acclaim at the festival and is sold out every night.

Dylan began performing in Dublin's Comedy Cellar in Wicklow Street, before emigrating to London two years ago. He is one of the youngest ever nominees for the award, which has been won twice before by Irish comics, Ben Keaton in 1986 and Sean Hughes in 1990.

The other Perrier nominees are British comics Bill Baily, Dominic Holland, Al Murray, Armstrong Miller and the US comic Rich Hall.

The Perrier, the biggest stand up comedy award in the business, carries a prize of £3,000, guarantees a major run in a theatre and generates huge media exposure.
