Youth rearrested in connection with death of Oisín McGrath

17-year-old held on suspicion of manslaughter

A 17-year-old male was rearrested on Tuesday on suspicion of manslaughter in relation to the death of teenager Oisín McGrath from Belcoo, Co Fermanagh.

The PSNI said on Tuesday night that the youth, who was arrested and released on bail last week, was rearrested on “suspicion of manslaughter”.

Detective Inspector Gary Talbot from the PSNI serious crime squad said the youth was interviewed and later released on continuing bail.

Thirteen-year-old Oisin McGrath died last Thursday following injuries he sustained on the previous Monday during an incident in the playground of St Michael’s school in Enniskillen where he was a pupil.

The 17-year-old, who is also a pupil of St Michael’s, was arrested at the time but released on bail pending further inquiries.

At Oisín McGrath’s funeral on Sunday mourners heard how his organs were donated to assist five people.
