A woman’s body has been found in the grounds of a church in north Dublin this morning.

Gardaí were informed about the body at St Michan’s Church, a Church of Ireland Church, on Church Street in Dublin 7 at around 6am.

Forensic experts are at the scene but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Archbishop of Dublin the Most Revd Dr Michael Jackson expressed his sadness at the tragic death of the young woman.

“I also wish to voice the sympathy of the Church of Ireland community in Dublin to all those close to her and to whom she meant a great deal as a person, a friend and a family-member.”

“May she rest in peace and may those who mourn her loss be comforted in their distress.”
