Woman in her 90s dies in a house fire in Co Donegal

A woman in her 90s has died in a house fire in Inishowen, Co Donegal.

The blaze broke out at a house in the Illies area of Buncrana just after 4pm on Monday afternoon.

It is understood the woman lived alone.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The scene has been preserved and a full examination of it will take place on Tuesday morning.

Insp David Murphy confirmed that an elderly woman had died in the blaze.
