Woman dies in Co Meath road crash

Female in her 40s was sole occupant of car involved in collision with truck

A woman has died in a road traffic collision that occurred at Baymore Cross, Laytown, Co Meath, on Saturday at approximately 2pm.

A woman in her 40s who was the driver and sole occupant, was fatally injured when her car was involved in a collision with a truck.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan. The driver of the truck did not require hospital treatment.

This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
