A woman has died after the car she was driving collided with another car on the N4 at Bunbrosna, three miles west of Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
The crash happened at about 9.20am on Monday morning.
The male driver and female passenger in the second car were taken to hospital.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination. Local diversions are in place.
