Woman (92) seriously injured in Dublin gas explosion

A 92-year-old woman is seriously ill in hospital following a gas explosion at her home in Dublin.

Dublin Fire Brigade and gardaí attended the scene at O'Rahilly House, Ringsend at about 10.30pm last night, a Garda spokesman confirmed.

Bord Gáis carried out an initial examination and it is understood the explosion was not due to a leak.

The woman was treated at the scene for burns and was later taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where her condition is serious.
