Witness appeal after man seriously injured in Cork crash

Gardaí in Charleville, Co Cork, are appealing for witnesses to a road crash which has left a 33-year-old male pedestrian in a serious condition in hospital.

The incident happened at about 3.20am on Sunday morning on the Cork to Limerick road (N20) at Deerpark, Charleville. A car collided with a male pedestrianwho was seriously injured and taken to Cork University Hospital.

The 46-year-old male driver and other occupants of the car were uninjured.

The road is closed for a technical examination and will remain so until lunchtime. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on that stretch of road between 3am and 3.30am on Sunday to contact gardaí in Mallow on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
