A traditional hooker named for murdered Swiss teenager Manuela Riedo has sailed into Galway Bay to honour her memory.
The traditional vessel had been renamed Manuela in memory of the 17-year-old, who was murdered in Galway in 2007.
The student had arrived in Galway to learn English just three days beforehand.
The hooker was unveiled at a gala ball in Galway city hosted by the Manuela Riedo Foundation, which was created to raise funds for awareness of and prevention of sexual crime.
