Toddler falls from apartment in Longford town

Boy’s condition not yet known following incident at apartment block

A toddler is in hospital having fallen from an apartment in Longford town on Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at an apartment at Cuirt an Oir, off the Athlone Road at 10.50am. The boy was taken to Mullingar's Midland Regional Hospital before being transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin. The boy's current condition is unknown.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene. Gardai said they are investigating the incident.

Local councillor Peggy Nolan said: “Everybody is in shock here. My thoughts and prayers are with the boy and his family.”
