Toddler dies after being struck by vehicle in driveway in Co Galway

A 21-month-old boy has died after being struck by a vehicle in the driveway of his home in Co Galway.

Gardaí attended the incident at a private house in the Clynagh area of Carraroe at 3.45pm.

The emergency services responded to a call for assistance and attended the scene.

The boy was airlifted to University Hospital Galway where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

A post mortem examination will be conducted at University Hospital Galway on Thursday and Garda enquiries are ongoing.
