Teen held over three burglaries in Clontarf within 24-hours

Car and bicycle stolen during series of burglaries in north Dublin neighbourhood

A man in his late teens from has been arrested in connection to a string of home burglaries in Clontarf, on the northside of Dublin on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Three homes were broken into and robbed in the area between 4am to 11pm on Wednesday.

The first home was broken into on Stiles Court, near the Howth Road on Wednesday at 4am.

That evening a home on Kincora Drive, Clontarf was broken into and burgled at about 9.30pm .

From the Kincorra Drive address, Garda believe the burglar continued on to break into a third home on St Lawrence Road at about 11pm.

It is believed a car and a pedal bicycle was stolen from the St Lawrence Road home.

Shortly after the St Lawrence Road burglary gardaí arrested a man in East Wall as part of a follow up operation into the incidents.

A Garda spokesman confirmed “a man in his late teens has been arrested and is currently detained at Clontarf Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1994” in connection to the burglaries.

The man has been charged with a criminal offence and is to appear before a criminal court on Thursday at 10:30am.
